For the treatment of women’s pelvic health conditions and personal health issues, Chesapeake Urology’s Urogynecology team focuses on women’s overall pelvic health. Our urogynecology experts are dedicated to returning patients to a better way of life following the diagnoses and treatment of a wide variety of female pelvic health conditions.
What is a Urogynecologist?
A urogynecologist is an OB/GYN by training who has gone on to complete additional years of fellowship training in pelvic reconstructive surgery and other female urological disorders such as urinary incontinence and pelvic prolapse. In addition to more complex urological procedures, a urogynecologist also performs traditional GYN surgeries such as minimally invasive hysterectomy.
Chesapeake Urology’s urogynecologist, Conrad Duncan, M.D., specializes in minimally invasive GYN surgery, pelvic reconstructive surgery and robotic surgery as well as female pelvic health conditions. Working closely with Dr. Duncan's patients is women's health nurse practitioner Sondra Barker, CRNP, MS, RN. Sondra understands the emotional and physical aspects of female pelvic health issues and walks women through every step of their journey to better health.
