Dr. Angell practices general urology and specializes in minimally invasive techniques to treat urological conditions. His expertise includes robotic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic management of prostate, bladder and kidney cancer, as well as minimally invasive treatments for ureteral disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH/enlarged prostate), kidney stones and the medical and surgical management of erectile dysfunction including penile prosthesis.


He was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society in 2006, and he received the Tauber Scholarship from George Washington University for two consecutive years. While in medical school, Dr. Angell was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society, which is comprised of individuals who have been recognized for practicing patient-centered medical care by modeling the qualities of integrity, excellence, compassion, altruism, respect and empathy. During his last year of residency at Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Angell was the urology chief resident. His honors also include the William Hollis Cooner Outstanding Urology Resident Award and the Outstanding Urologic Laparoendoscopic Resident Award, both from Emory University.


Dr. Angell has published and presented numerous papers on a range of urologic subjects including robotics, endourology, laparoscopic approaches for distal ureteral strictures, renal pelvic tumors and prostate and kidney cancer.


Dr. Angell grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Gilman School. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. He was also elected to The Gilman School's Alumni Association Board of Governors.

Dr. Dickstein is a urologic oncologist who trained at the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  Dr. Dickstein focuses on all urologic cancers and specializes in open, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries. His expertise includes the treatment of bladder cancer (non-invasive and locally advanced), kidney cancer (small or locally advanced tumors), and prostate cancer (including primary and salvage surgery for complex cases).


Dr. Dickstein also specializes in the treatment of testicular and penile cancers. He has published numerous articles on urologic cancers in multiple medical journals and has presented at national meetings on subjects primarily related to bladder and penile cancers.


He is a member of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) Scientific Advisory Board, which is composed of distinguished leading academic urologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists working within the bladder cancer field, representing many of the major cancer centers in the U.S and Canada.


Dr. Dickstein received a Merit Award for the 2011 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium by the American Society of Clinical Oncology, was a first place winner of the Max K. Willscher Resident Research Award competition at the New England Section of the American Urologic Association, and he was presented with the Editor's Award of Excellence for an Original Study from the Uro Today International Journal.


Dr. Dickstein was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society while he was in medical school.

As a general urologist, Dr. Dowling has particular interest in the treatment of enlarged prostate (BPH), the surgical management of kidney stone disease and in the laparoscopic treatment of renal and ureteral tumors and urologic oncology.


Dr. Dowling's clinical practice is based at Franklin Square Hospital Center, where he is the Section Chief of Urologic Surgery. He also serves on the Executive Committee of Chesapeake Urology.

Dr. Geoffrey Sklar is the Chief Medical Officer for Chesapeake Urology. He is a member of the MedStar Health Cancer Network and serves as the Associate Director of the Weinberg Cancer Institute at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. In tandem with that appointment, he also serves as the medical center’s Chief of the Division of Urologic Oncology. Dr. Sklar is a Volunteer Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he previously was Chief of Urology and Residency Director at the University of Maryland Medical Center.


Dr. Sklar is recognized across the Baltimore region as an innovator in urology care, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer,  prostate cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer, penile cancer as well as erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease. He is also one of only a few local physicians trained to perform blue light cystoscopy, an innovative, technology-based tool that aids in precise detection and diagnosis of bladder tumors. 


Additionally, Dr. Sklar has earned professional accolades for the extensive research he has conducted and published, contributing to the advancement of care for patients with urological malignancies, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, transplant ureteral reconstruction, cryosurgery, endoscopy, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).


Dr. Sklar has been Chief Medical Officer for Chesapeake Urology since 2009.  He is a member of the group’s Executive Clinical Team and chairs Chesapeake Urology’s Grand Rounds, the Morbidity and Mortality Committee and the Multidisciplinary Tumor Board Committee. He also serves as a liaison for the company on medical matters with outside organizations including hospitals and medical insurance groups. His other duties include physician oversight, quality assurance, and risk-management.


Prior to his role with the MedStar Franklin Square Weinberg Cancer Institute, which he began on July 1, 2017, Dr. Sklar held several high-level positions with the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center including: President of the Medical Staff, Chief of Urology, Chief of Urological Oncology, and Assistant Chief of Surgery.


Dr. Sklar has participated in numerous clinical trials. He has been awarded the Title of “Innovator in Urology,” and has numerous publications as well as over 150 invited presentations.
